Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

  2. Mix dry ingredients. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

  3. Cream butter and sugars. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter with both sugars until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

  4. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract. Mix until combined.

  5. Combine wet and dry. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, mixing on low speed until just combined.

  6. Fold in chocolate chips. Use a spatula to fold in the chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.

  7. Scoop and bake. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until edges are golden but centers still look slightly underdone.

  8. Cool and enjoy. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
